Chronic Disease - The Real Cause

A chronic disease doesn’t usually occur overnight. In almost all cases, it actually takes years to develop, whether we know it or not.
How Almost All Disease Develops
The simple answer is TOXINS! Yes, toxins are the culprit, and in today’s world we are being exposed to them more and more on a daily basis. They can cause digestive disorders, hormones to become imbalanced, the heart to become damaged, the immune system to malfunction (multiple sclerosis, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, etc.), and practically any other condition that you can think of.
How Toxins Get Into Our Bodies
Toxins enter into the body in a variety of ways. For example, a majority of our exposures to toxins comes from the food and liquids that we eat and drink (our diet). However, there are other ways to be exposed to them, such as through the air that we breathe, external skin exposures, and radiation. And, one that’s commonly overlooked, but is probably the most significant next to our diets, is our thoughts (attitude, mental/emotional stress, pre-existing beliefs, etc.).
Examples of Some Common Physical Toxins:
- Pesticides
- Herbicides
- Fungicides
- Synthetic Fertilizers
- Food Dyes
- Food Sensitivities, as well as Allergies
- Destructive Thoughts
- From Certain Microbes (fungi/mold, etc.)
- Dairy Products (other than from humans) & Gluten
- Growth Hormones (injected in cattle)
- Genetically Modified Foods (GMO)
- Glyphosate (Ingredient in Roundup weed killer)
- Plastics (BPA and others)
- Toxic Levels of Heavy Metals (Mercury, Arsenic, etc.)
- Antibiotics, Vaccinations & other Pharmaceuticals
- Polychlorinated biphenyl (PCBs)
Remember, these are only examples of some of the most common toxins that many of us are exposed to on a daily basis.
The General Effects of Toxins
As I stated earlier, most of the toxins that we get exposed to come through our diets/guts/digestive tracts. They usually hide in our foods and liquids that we drink. Once they’re inside, the body has numerous defenses to detox them. However, when we take in toxins faster than our bodies can remove them, they start to accumulate in certain tissues and cause damage to them. Over time, when this damage reaches a specific level (varies among individuals), disease develops.
The damage that toxins tend to cause usually begins in the digestive tract, specifically the walls of the gut. This damage causes the microscopic spaces in the walls, which is the areas where all the nutrients from our foods and liquids enter the blood stream, to become slightly bigger. When this happens, certain substances (toxins, larger than normal food particles, microbes, etc.) can fit between these now slightly larger spaces and enter into the blood stream, which they normally would not. This issue will eventually lead to tissue damage within the body. We call this “Leaky Gut Syndrome.”
Take note, there are some toxins small enough to pass through the gut walls without this process (Leaky Gut Syndrome) occurring.
Now, if the body can’t filter out all of the toxins that you are taking in on a daily basis, these toxins will travel to areas of weakness (tissues) within it and start to slowly accumulate. I call this process “reaching your body’s toxic load threshold.” When the accumulation reaches the point where the tissue damage is so great that you start to develop symptoms, acute disease (tends to occur in days to weeks) has developed. If this issue isn’t addressed quickly, chronic disease (months to years) develops.
Some examples of chronic disease conditions are digestive disorders; cancer; heart disease; Alzheimer’s; Parkinson’s disease; ALS; autoimmunity (multiple sclerosis and others); hormone imbalances; weak muscles, tendons, and ligaments; skin conditions; and many others. You can even develop weight loss difficulty.
Take note that areas of weakness are specific to each individual. These areas, when toxins aren’t present, don’t tend to cause you any issues. However, when they become damaged due to toxins, that’s when disease develops. In addition, depending on the specific area(s) that are damaged, this will determine what specific symptoms (conditions) you develop. Do you now see why people develop different health issues?
A Patient’s Story
One of my patients, Lisa (not her real name), came to me with all sorts of health concerns, including hormone imbalances, chronic skin issues, fatigue, brain fog, and other symptoms. The first thing I did was look for the toxins that were causing her health issue. After a thorough investigation, it turned out that Lisa had a number of food sensitivities that were affecting her body on many different levels. These food sensitivities were secondary to her taking a number of antibiotics over the years due to Lyme disease.
The next thing I did with Lisa was to help adjust her diet by removing the specific food sensitivities that were the most troublesome. I then made sure that Lisa was getting the proper nutrients that she needed for her body to heal the damaged tissues that developed over the years. And, I performed a series of simple, but powerful, treatments in my office to help stimulate Lisa’s body’s natural ability to heal itself. This natural ability of her body had been suppressed for many years due to all the pharmaceutical medications that she was on prior to being treated by me.
After about two weeks of time, Lisa called to tell me that she was feeling much better. She was so happy to tell me that her skin was starting to clear up, she was starting to remember things better, and that her energy had significantly improved.
Steps That I Took To Help Lisa Heal
What I did was start Lisa on my 3 Essential Principles to True Healing program. See below for these steps.
- Find and remove the obstacles that are preventing the body from healing.
- Give the body what it needs to heal itself properly.
- Stimulate that body’s natural ability to heal itself.

I will be discussing the 3 Essential Principles to True Healing from this point forward on a weekly basis. My goal is to empower the public, you, with the knowledge to help anyone and everyone to heal from virtually any chronic health condition, as well as to help prevent illness before it can become established in the body. Remember, knowledge is power, which means it empowers you to take responsibility for your own health.
Much of what I talk about will be related to everything that you have read earlier in this post. However, I do talk about Lyme disease and its associated co-infections a lot, mostly because they are highly toxic to the body, and these toxins can affect pretty much any part of it. This means that these infections (Lyme and co-infections) can cause virtually any known disease, but that doesn’t mean that these infections are the sole cause of all disease. Also, whatever I write about can be applied to almost all other health issues.
