THERAPEUTIC DIET
To give a better understanding on the importance of your daily nutrition, consider this: it was once stated long ago “All disease starts in the gut.” Well, many years later, this statement still holds true, with few exceptions.
With this in mind, it’s so essential to understand that what you eat is what you become. Food is one of the most important factors, if not the most important factor, to achieving and maintaining overall optimal health.
But how do I know what dietary plan is right specifically for me? It can be very confusing with all the noise on social media, as well as all the books that are written on this subject. Everyone want you to follow and buy into their plan. Now, some of the dietary plans that you see out in the world may work, but from our experience, there isn't one specific plan that works 100% of the time for everyone.
At The Center for Natural Health, we recognize that everyone is different, and what works for one person may not work for the next. This is why we find it so important to determine and formulate a specific individualize dietary plan that best fits your needs. We do this by utilizing our extensive experiences and knowledge in nutrition, in addition to using both conventional and specialized laboratory testing. These include, but are not limited to, testing for, food allergies, as well as food sensitivities, vitamin, mineral, and essential fatty acids levels, and digestive (gut) health.

CONSTITUTIONAL HYDROTHERAPY
Constitutional Hydrotherapy is a very powerful naturopathic treatment, and has been used effectively for many years to treat people with almost any type of health condition. Dr. O.G. Carroll was the founder of Constitutional Hydrotherapy and had many successes in his practice while using it to help numerous patients with both acute and chronic conditions.
Constitutional Hydrotherapy is considered one of the most effective therapies for stimulating the body's immune system, as well as in achieving total body detoxification. It has also been used to assist in correcting gastrointestinal disease by improve the gut's motility (movement), in addition to its vascular and lymphatic flow.
Constitutional Hydrotherapy activates the body’s innate or inherent natural self-healing abilities. This is achieved by applying contrast hot and cold towel applications, in addition to a series of specific frequency stimulation (similar devices used in many physical therapists’ offices, such as sine wave and diathermy) at various intervals during treatment. It is one of the most effective treatments used by classical Naturopathic Physicians due to its remarkable ability to assist in facilitating the healing process. It has been used in both acute and chronic health conditions, as well as in the prevention of disease.
Hydrotherapy has been known to help stimulate the circulatory flow of the blood while promoting the elimination of waste material and other toxins from the body. By eliminating toxic and morbid matter, it allows the overall improvement of nutrient absorption, while helping to restore overall body balance. It additionally assists in the enhancement and balance of the body’s immune function, which is especially important with regard to autoimmune disorders. It can be used in almost any health condition. It is even used to help with hormone imbalances.
Some additional benefits of Constitutional Hydrotherapy are in acute infections, such as whooping cough, pneumonia, sinusitis, as well as in chronic conditions, such as asthma, irritable bowel, Crohn's disease, psoriasis, and arthritis. Additionally, it has been known to be effective in treating people with respiratory disease, female reproductive issues, immune deficiency disease/disorders (cancer, environmental hypersensitivities), circulatory disease, digestive disorders, and more. The Center for Natural Health is proud to provide this extremely powerful treatment to our patients.
HOMEOPATHY
The founder of modern Homeopathy was credited to Dr. Samuel Hahnemann. Dr. Hahnemann was a German physician (1755-1843) who developed the homeopathic system that we used today.
Homeopathy is a powerful type of medicine used to help the body correct its energetic imbalances. It tends to work deep in the body at the cellular level. It is a very safe treatment method.
The premise of homeopathy is “Like Cures Like.” To understand this further, when a substance is given in large doses (at a toxic level to the body) to a healthy person, it will produce a set of symptoms of disease. This is called a proving. That same substance, when given in only minute doses to an unhealthy person can be used to help heal that person with matching similar symptoms. It’s actually a little more complicated than that, but that's why we are here to help. Determining the correct homeopathic remedy for your needs is something that specialize in.
Homeopathic remedies are dispensed in liquid, pellets, or creams. And, they can be used in all aspects of Naturopathic Medicine, including in acute (fever, colds, flus, injuries, etc.) and chronic conditions (basically almost any prolonged set of symptoms of disease).

BOTANICAL MEDICINE (HERBAL MEDICINES)
Botanicals are powerful naturally occurring medicines derived from various parts of plants. Almost every plant has some medicinal value, and can be used to assist in the healing process during treatment, including in acute and chronic conditions (infections, pain management, hormone balancing, heart, digestive, neurological support, etc.) and in the prevention of disease.
Plants can be concentrated down into something called "tinctures" (strong medicines in liquid form), powders (used in capsules and loose forms ), boiled and made into teas, made into creams and gels, as well as other forms. At The Center for Natural Health, we use our extensive experience in prescribing and formulating many of our own botanical preparations, which are customized specifically for each individual patient's needs.

PHYSICAL MEDICINE
As stated earlier, Naturopathic Medicine is the practice of using nature’s own natural and safe methods to help in the prevention of disease, as well as the restoring of balance within the body (healing from acute and chronic disease), and the achievement of optimal health.
With that said, spinal manipulation is another therapy that is used to facilitate this process. Proper alignment of your spine assists in the proper circulatory (blood) and lymphatic (where the immune system hangs out) flow within the body, which better assists in the removal of toxins from the surrounding tissues, while allowing nutrients to flow into them.
The spine is made up of a number of vertebrae (small sections of protective bone), with many nerves and blood vessels passing through them. It also has a number of muscles, ligaments, and tendons that attach to these bones. When the spinal is misaligned, many times as a result of a unhealthy lifestyle, proper circulatory and lymphatic flow can be partially obstructed. When this happens, the removal of toxins slows down, which can allow these same toxins to accumulate within the tissues near this region.
In addition, the necessary nutrients needed for the repair and replacement of damaged tissues are slow to arrive to the body's needed regions when the spinal is misaligned, further causing damage.
When tissue becomes damaged it becomes inflamed, which leads to pain. However, a misalignment spinal can also cause the pinching (compression) of a nerve, which also can cause pain. Either way, both issues need to be corrected, making proper spinal adjustment an essential part of Naturopathic treatment and healing.

AURICULAR ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is one of the oldest natural treatments in healing. It originated in China thousands of years ago. Acupuncture is believed to work by helping to create balance within the body. There are thousands of points on the human body that can be used during an acupuncture treatment, though here at The Center for Natural Health we use something called Auricular Acupuncture.
Auricular Acupuncture focuses particularly on the ear(s). There are various points on the ear that interconnect with a number of other regions (skin, organs, etc.) throughout the body. We mostly use seeds (small beads with tape) instead of needles on the ear, and many of our patients find it more comfortable. The seeds can be left on the ears for a few days to help provide continuous treatment.
